Bring your pupils to Carymoor for a unique and unforgettable educational experience. With access to a Waste Transfer Station, capped landfill site, beautiful nature reserve, sensory and wild-flower gardens, replica celtic roundhouse, Forest School Area and sustainable buildings, we bring green issues to life all year round!

A firm favourite with Primary schools are our wildlife themed days where we explore our meadows, woodland and ponds to find out more about the plants and animals that call them home. From Minibeast Mayhem for Reception Classes, Animal Superheroes, Henry the Hedgehog and Plant Power for KS1, to Plant Detectives and Wildlife Detectives CSI for KS2, there is plenty on offer all year around to excite and engage your children and bring their science learning to life!

EYFS and KS1 groups can have a magical time stepping into a story book with one of our fairytale days (choose from 3 little pigs, Jack and the Beanstalk or Gingerbread Man) or a Stick man day. These days are packed full of stimulating activities linked to your chosen story, such as shelter-building, simple map work, games, crafts and team challenges.

Our Day at the Dump for KS2 and Eco Pirates for KS1 both explore our unique site, investigating what happens to the rubbish we throw away and introduce the 3 Rs (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) in fun, engaging ways. These days are tailored to each key stage, providing an interactive tour of our site (comprising active waste transfer and compost operations, capped landfill and our interactive waste tunnel), plus games and crafts linked to the 3Rs.

Our history days cover British history from the Stone Age through to the Viking invasion in a fun, hands on way which is sure to provide a truly memorable experience. For example our Stone Age days focus on how our ancestors used natural resources to help them survive. Students can have a go at shelter building and fire lighting as well as finding out more about the lives of hunter-gatherers and tackling some stone-age orienteering too!

Our site is also perfect for an adventurous day of team challenges and survival techniques on either or Natural Disaster or Survival days, which are full of exciting activities will test the resilience and teamwork of your students.

  • In more than 20 years of teaching this was the best trip I have ever taken children on – educational, fun and inspirational!

  • I just had to email you to thank you all for such a truly fabulous day. The staff were friendly, enthusiastic and perfectly prepared for all the activities. The children learnt a huge amount and could not stop talking about it on the way home - 'best trip ever' was repeatedly heard!

  • I just wanted to say thank you SO much for a fantastic trip today. The children didn’t stop talking about what they did/learned and raved about the day. It was pitched perfectly and even staff learned something new! I will be recommending it to everyone I can. Brilliantly organised and engaging. Thanks again.

  • “…we had a fabulous time as always - a trip to Carymoor is always, without a doubt, the best school trip! If I could come every term I would!”

  • We have been coming to Carymoor for many years and they never disappoint. The staff are all incredibly friendly, accommodating and flexible. We have enjoyed a wide range of activities which are all carefully planned and resourced and, most importantly, loved by the children. Thank you Carymoor and we look forward to seeing you next year!
