Wildlife Detectives – CSI

Transform your class into Wildlife detectives: Honing their investigative skills with some starter activities like our tracks and signs trail or ‘Poo-Dunnit?’ challenge, then putting these skills into practice to help solve a wildlife crime that has happened in your school grounds.

By working together to investigate the crime scene, explore the evidence and use their reasoning and deduction skills, will your students manage to solve the crime or will the culprit evade justice?

As well as encouraging teamwork and communication, this workshop also supports parts of the KS2 science curriculum, with links to food chains, adaptations and habitats.

Please note: This is a seasonal education day for the Autumn/Winter terms.

Feedback

  • We have been coming to Carymoor for many years and they never disappoint. The staff are all incredibly friendly, accommodating and flexible. We have enjoyed a wide range of activities which are all carefully planned and resourced and, most importantly, loved by the children. Thank you Carymoor and we look forward to seeing you next year!

  • “…we had a fabulous time as always - a trip to Carymoor is always, without a doubt, the best school trip! If I could come every term I would!”

  • I just wanted to say thank you SO much for a fantastic trip today. The children didn’t stop talking about what they did/learned and raved about the day. It was pitched perfectly and even staff learned something new! I will be recommending it to everyone I can. Brilliantly organised and engaging. Thanks again.

  • I just had to email you to thank you all for such a truly fabulous day. The staff were friendly, enthusiastic and perfectly prepared for all the activities. The children learnt a huge amount and could not stop talking about it on the way home - 'best trip ever' was repeatedly heard!

  • We had a superb day, Natalie was very accommodating with our timetable as we arrived late. We started with the hunter gatherer games to burn off some post coach energy. We loved dressing up and examining the artefacts. The children absolutely loved the quern stones, fire lighting and shelter building. Nothing but positive things to say. Staff and volunteers amazing - thank you.
