Henry the Hedgehog is missing!

Henry the Hedgehog has disappeared and his woodland friends at Carymoor are very worried about him. Can your class of mini-detectives help solve this mystery and find our missing hedgehog?!

An exciting day of seasonal fun and challenges, including:

  • Search for evidence of Henry and other creatures on our site: tracks, droppings and more!
  • Try some simple map reading to help explore the woods for clues.
  • Find out more about a variety of woodland animals, their homes and diets.
  • Discover what happens during autumn and winter and how this affects woodland animals.
  • Make mini hedgehogs to take home, using clay and natural materials.
  • Develop empathy/social skills

Please note: This is a seasonal education day and is best timed during the autumn term.

We had a fabulous day. Activities were well thought out and engaging, with a good amount of time allocated to each activity. Upon returning to school the children have spoken fondly about the day.

  • We have been coming to Carymoor for many years and they never disappoint. The staff are all incredibly friendly, accommodating and flexible. We have enjoyed a wide range of activities which are all carefully planned and resourced and, most importantly, loved by the children. Thank you Carymoor and we look forward to seeing you next year!

  • We had a superb day, Natalie was very accommodating with our timetable as we arrived late. We started with the hunter gatherer games to burn off some post coach energy. We loved dressing up and examining the artefacts. The children absolutely loved the quern stones, fire lighting and shelter building. Nothing but positive things to say. Staff and volunteers amazing - thank you.
