Wildlife Detectives CSI

Carymoor is a dangerous place to be…

Transform your class into Wildlife Crime Scene Investigators for the day!  Explore the wilds of Carymoor and hone your detective skills with a variety of challenges.

Spring/Summer

In Spring and Summer, our detective challenges focus on habitats, including our pond creature name trail, pond dipping and OPAL water quality survey as well as a mini nature walk.”

Autumn/Winter

In Autumn and Winter, our detective challenges focus on investigating the tracks and signs left behind by creatures at Carymoor.  Activities include our Poo Dunnit challenge, a tracks and signs orienteering trail and mini nature walk.

All year round

Following on from these activities, you will put you detective skills into practise to solve our special CSI Carymoor scenario: Who killed the pigeon? As well as encouraging teamwork and communication, this day also supports parts of the KS2 science curriculum, with links to food chains, adaptations and habitats.

This day is in Price Band 1.

Feedback for this day includes:

"Besides teambuilding, they learnt to appreciate nature and take a step back and just listen."  St Michael's Academy, March 22

"All the activities were really engaging. Beth was really enthusiastic and her love of nature really rubbed off on the children. Children were so engaged a little bit of rain didn't even dampen their spirits. The activities were well resourced and they loved the little games in between to break up the activities. To improve- we wish we could've stayed longer!" Wellsprings Primary, March 22
