Schools Against Waste

Our Schools Against Waste team are helping to promote the rollout of the new 'Recyle More' service from Somerset Waste Partnership which started in autumn 2020 and allows more items to be recycled from the kerbside.

We can offer your school a FREE virtual visit, featuring a half day of activities to help raise awareness amongst children and staff and encourage everyone to 'Recycle More'.

What we can offer:

Including an assembly and 2 x 1-hour Curriculum linked workshops. For details of our workshops please see the links below.

All of our sessions are linked to the curriculum and will be practical and fun, giving children a better understanding of waste and recycling issues.

‘Karen was so enthusiastic and the children engaged and enjoyed the lesson, activities and videos as if she was in the room with us! They learnt a lot. Thank you!’ Butleigh Primary

‘Thank you very much for bringing the Schools Against Waste team to Bowlish Infant School. The children were so excited to see you and their friends on the screen and we were very proud that we conquered the technology!’ Bowlish Infants School

'Thank you so much for the virtual assembly and workshops this morning. The children really enjoyed it and we all thought you did so well. Despite it being on Zoom, it was like you were here in person!' Hemington Primary

Advice and support:

In addition to the workshops we can also spend time with school staff to review current recycling facilities and see where improvements can be made. We can provide practical advice and help.

Carymoor’s education team are experienced teachers and are all DBS checked.
