Come to Carymoor and bring green issues to life!
Children can experience nature first-hand at our inspirational reserve which is a haven for wildlife of all kinds. The nature on our site is contrasted with the nearby working landfill site - an eye opener for all ages - to bring home the importance of waste reduction, reuse and recycling. Our talented and enthusiastic team make learning about sustainability exciting and our unique site offers a wealth of resources. Our welcoming visitor centre and surroundings have lots of sustainable features – solar panels, rainwater harvesting, a strawbale house and a beautiful sensory garden.
Explore the different areas of our website. Find out about Carymoor’s education programme based here at our inspiring education centre as well as our award-winning outreach team. You don’t need to bring a school group to visit us though. Adult and community groups are welcome to book a trip and we hold regular open days and events. Or why not join our growing team of volunteers?
All the wildlife photos you see on this website have been taken at Carymoor by our friend and former Reserve Officer Jules Cross. They illustrate brilliantly the success of the habitat creation and land restoration work we’ve carried out on the 100 acres of capped landfill that we manage.
We work with students of all ages to deliver inspirational outdoor learning day visits and outreach education. Find out about our Environmental Action Days at Carymoor for KS2, Wild Days Out plus a host of exciting outreach education activities across the Key Stages. Click here to find out more.
