Natural Disaster Day

Natural Disaster Day

From the moment students arrive they will experience what it would be like to be a victim of a natural disaster. We encourage students to think about their needs and priorities in a disaster situation, to work as a team and experience briefly what life is like in other parts of the world where natural disasters are a more frequent part of daily life.

Activities include:

  • Exciting team building challenges
  • Shelter building
  • Water capture techniques
  • Cooking simple campfire bread
  • Tracks and Signs orienteering

This day is in Price Band 2.

Feedback for this day includes:

"The children had a wonderful day. They gained new experiences and knowledge. It gave us the opportunities to make links with the current situation in the Ukraine and have conversations about it".   High Ham Primary School, March 22

"It was pitched perfectly and provided suitable challenge. Excellent links were made across the curriculum inc., to areas of Social, Emotion and Mental Health. Also, the children were put into situations which required collaboration and teamwork, which has been an important area of focus for the children."  May 22
