Crafty Celts History Day

Bring your class for a 'hands on history' day at Carymoor, enabling them to experience for themselves the techniques and materials used by Celtic craftspeople during the Iron Age. A Crafty Celts day includes a choice of exciting activity options such as:

 

  • Grind grain using a replica Quern stone
  • Take part in our Celt Orienteering Quiz
  • Follow our 'Footprints of the past' trail to discover more about the wild creatures that lived in Britain
  • Have a go at some Celtic inspired games
  • Fire lighting

 

Then choose from either

 

  • Cooking bread over an open fire

OR

  • Making a replica roundhouse

OR

  • Making a willow plate

 

*Please note there is an additional charge for materials and preparation for this day of between £30-60 depending on number of students.  Please see pricing page for details.
