We can offer our Carymoor Discovery Award to a class or small groups of upper KS2 students.
During four sessions on our site, children are given the opportunity to discover, explore and conserve the wild spaces at Carymoor, through a wide variety of activities . On completion of the Award, each student will receive a certificate to recognise their achievements.
In the first session we will introduce our Carymoor Award and show you around our site, explaining the landfill site and the Waste Transfer Station and the impact of waste on the environment.
Following sessions can be tailored to the needs of the group but may include orienteering, shelter building, wildlife discovery, map making, creative crafts using willow and natural resources and conservation tasks. There will also be some tasks set for extending learning at home including litter picking or volunteering in your local area, creating a map or poster of Carymoor, taking friends or family on a wildlife walk and record what was found or encouraging class members to take part in a waste free lunch.
Please contact us for more details and to check availability.
