Primary Education days

New environmental themed education days
Published: 16th Apr 2023
Our primary school education days have a strong environmental theme and together we look at the ways we can protect our environment and how to make small changes at home or at school to help wildlife and the planet.
A visit to Carymoor is an inspirational educational trip. Children relish the time outdoors taking part in fun activities where they are encouraged to have a go at things they might not have done before such as fire lighting, shelter building, pond dipping, or sweeping for insects in our meadow.
We can offer students a chance to walk on top of a capped landfill site, walk through our interactive waste tunnel, see how rubbish is processed now and discuss how we can reduce, reuse, recycle as well as repair, rethink and refuse on our Day at the Dump or Eco Pirates days.
Our popular history days take us back in time to see how the Romans, Anglo Saxons, Viking and Celts lived as well as looking at life in the Stone Age and Iron Age. Each of our history days has different activities which could include time in our round house, looking at items from the past, building shelters, cooking bread over the fire, grinding corn or having a go at fire lighting.
Join us with your younger classes for Fairy-tale days which tell the story of Jack and the Beanstalk, The Three Little Pigs, The Gingerbread Man as well as Stick Man. These days explore the various stories and the themes of growth, map work, shelter building as well as plenty of songs, games and crafts.
Our wildlife days have been given a makeover to include new activities. We discover the power of plants in all their amazing shapes and sizes on our Plant Power nature themed education day. During the late summer you may also get the opportunity to visit our observational bee hive and learn more about the role insects play in plant lifecycles and pollination.
Explore Carymoor's habitats and discover more about the amazing minibeasts that live here, including their incredible adaptations for survival, crazy body shapes and 'delicious' diets on a Marvellous Minibeasts day specifically aimed at Years 1 and 2. Hunt for bugs in the long grass of our meadow, under logs or around our pond or discover more about the teeny tiny creatures that live at Carymoor on our Minibeast Mayhem day designed for EYFS children.
Whatever day to choose, you are guaranteed a great day out which the children will remember for a long time. See the feedback under the description of each of our Education Days to see what others think of their visit.
The Summer is now fully booked but we would love to welcome you in Autumn 2023.
