Rural Crafts at Carymoor

Four day rural craft courses for unemployed or economically inactive people in Somerset.

Starts: 23rd Aug 2022 to 21st Oct 2022

Are you unemployed or economically inactive?  Are you keen to learn new skills whilst enjoying the great outdoors with a small group of people in a supportive and inclusive environment?


The course will give you a chance to learn a range of traditional Somerset rural crafts, including willow weaving, basket making, green woodworking and ceramics. The course will help you to learn new skills, build confidence, and help you towards volunteering and employment opportunites, and further learning. Based at our wonderful nature reserve, the courses will be led by Carymoor's Education Manager, Karen Boswell.

The four day courses will take place from 10am until 4pm on the following dates.  Please only book if you can attend all four dates in the same week.


Course 1: August 23rd, 24th, 25th and 26th 


Course 2: September 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th


Course 3: October 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st



No previous experience is necessary and you can work at your own pace in a friendly and supportive environment.

All participants must be unemployed or economically inactive, and be aged 16 or over and be able to work in the UK.


These courses are FREE to attend thanks to funding from the European Social Fund.  You will be required to complete an induction before the beginning of the course.
