Illuminate your home with a one-of-a-kind creation! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn to craft your own willow lampshade. Choose to use a French Rand technique for beautiful light-filtering spaces or explore creative designs with voids and filled patterns.
What You’ll Learn:
- Grading Willow: Learn how to select and prepare willow for your project.
- Weaving Techniques: Shape and weave the sides of your lampshade using a variety of patterns and design elements.
- Rod Border Design: Add a polished and professional finish to your lampshade.
All materials are included in this workshop, making it the perfect opportunity to try your hand at a new skill. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced weaver, you’ll create a functional and stylish piece that brings a warm, natural glow to your space.
What to expect:
- A small group of a maximum of 6 people.
- The session will be led by Karen Boswell.
- The course will be held in our main visitor centre.
- Please bring your own lunch. Refreshments will be provided throughout the day.
- All the tools and materials you need will be provided on the day.
- Take home your own lampshade.
