Towards the end of March nature has certainly made the most of the more favourable days, basking within the sun, feeding on the fresh blooms and new shoots.
I have managed to see all the five species of butterflies that spend their winter within Britain. The brimstone, small tortoiseshell, peacock, comma and the red admiral.
Monday March 23rd was a beautiful, spring day, a new hatching for another 2 species of butterfly emerged. The speckled wood and the small white.

She looked in good condition and rather pregnant too. She will possibly give birth sometime, around May.

Monday 23rd March was also a favourable day for the bumblebees. I have now managed to see 6 of the species from the big 8, Buff-tail, whitetail, red-tail, garden, early and the common carder.
