Based in Minehead, West Somerset UK, TRUCE is an ambitious community project to set up a Timber Re-Use Centre providing a wood product workshop, wood bank, training placements, product sales and promotion of re-use and recycling issues.

TRUCE's long-term aim is to divert usable scrap timber from going into landfill and set up a workshop for those needing therapeutic woodworking, training and work experience. A 'not for profit' organisation, TRUCE receives good wood from both domestic and commercial sources that would normally be heading to landfill, and reuses it to make excellent quality products for re-sale. The project enables local people to be pro-active with wood re-use by donating wood and giving scrap a new lease of life. The project is also delivering training and education based around carpentry, wood and the three 'R's' - Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

The products are hand crafted, all made using the 'local' identity and range from garden benches, planters and stools to boot pullers, games and household goods. The exciting 'Greenhive' produced by TRUCE is a must have for all households to embrace recycling and reuse. The Greenhive (pictured above) is made from old pallets and uses old carrier bags to collect your glass, cans, plastic and paper for recycling. The design hides away all those bags and stores them in an attractive garden/garage hive.
