They will delete all of the information from the hard drives before re-installing software.Computer Re-Use in SomersetThe following non-profit organisations will refurbish your computers for use by playgroups, schools, youth clubs, charities and other non-profit organisations. They also make them available to those on state benefits, disabled, pensioners, and schoolchildren with learning difficulties. Ideally, they want donated computers to have a Processor of 300 MHz or faster and have at least 64 Mb of memory. They are always pleased to receive Hard Disk drives of 4Gb and above or memory chips and other useful components. However if your Computer is very old and no longer capable of being refurbished for use by a charity or school, it may have to be classified as "Electronic Waste" and be processed for recycling. Lamp Recycle Services LtdLamp Recycle Services are a not-for-profit company based in Plymouth. They do not charge for collection, but normally only collect equipment when they have other collections to make from the same area. They can also take printers and faxes. After the hard drives have been wiped they sell the computers to people and organisations who could not otherwise afford to purchase at normal prices.
