Future Field Naturalists

Next session: Mon 15th February 2016

Tracks, Trails & Signs

Plus further sessions each school holiday

Time: 2 pm - 4 pm

Are you between 8 and 12 years old? Are you wild about nature? Do you fancy yourself as the next Spring Watch presenter?! Yes! Then come along to our Future Field Naturalists' Club!Become a field naturalist

This is our nature club for 8 - 12 year-olds: a combination of outdoor fun investigating wildlife and developing I.D skills with real hands-on practical conservation activities.

This session we'll be Nature Detectives - looking at tracks and signs to see who's been about. Every animal leaves some kind of trace, from a footprint, a bent blade of grass, a soil disturbance or dropping to a chewed nut or leaf. By becoming a 'Nature Detective' and using all of our senses to observe, smell and listen for the signs left, we'll discover what animals have made Carymoor their home. We'll also discover what the Barn Owls at Carymoor caught for supper by dissecting their pellets.

There will be further sessions during each school holiday so watch this space for details!

Charge: £6 per child (8 - 12 year-olds unaccompanied).

Booking essential: e-mail education@carymoor.org.uk or phone 01963 351350 to book your place!
