Fantastic Fossils and Bones

Plus further sessions each school holiday

Time: 2 pm - 4 pm

Are you between 8 and 12 years old? Are you wild about nature? Do you fancy yourself as the next Spring Watch presenter?! Yes! Then come along to our Future Field Naturalists' Club!

Following on from our successful Saturday sessions last year, combining investigating wildlife and developing I.D skills with fun, hands-on practical conservation activities, we'll now be running our nature club for 8 - 12 year-olds on one afternoon during each school holiday: Become a field naturalist

This month our nature club will be exploring the fascinating world of fossils and bones:

  • Come on a fossil hunt in our Blue Lias clay and find and I.D some incredible fossils to discover what strange creatures lived here long ago.
  • Dissect an owl pellet and use your detective skills to work out which small mammals our owls have been eating by looking at the bones they've left behind!
  • Take a close look at our skull and bone collection to discover some amazing facts about them.
  • ...plus lots more!

Charge: £6 per child per session. Suitable for 8-12 year olds (unaccompanied).

Booking essential: e-mail julia.percy@carymoor.org.uk or phone 01963 350143 to book your place!
