Carymoor was set up in 1996 by a small group of enthusiasts. The purpose of the centre was to run environmental education programmes. The start up phase was supported by Wyvern Waste Services Ltd (Changed to Viridor Waste Services in May 2006) through the Landfill Tax Credit Scheme. The site is leased to Carymoor Environmental Centre and we have a land management agreement which provides core income to the Centre. Further Landfill Tax Credit Scheme funding for capital works and research is made available to Carymoor originating from Viridor Waste Services Ltd. There is a well established nature reserve on site which is home to twenty seven different species of butterfly. Contact Us To find out more about Carymoor Environmental Centre, email or phone us on 01963 350143. The site is not open access, if you would like to come and visit the centre then please call and make an appointment or come on one of our Open Evenings which take place the first working Monday of each month from April to September.
