Nature notes - April 2010

April 2010
Its Spring!! What do you think of when wild garlic and young nettles start shooting out of the ground? If you're like Frances, our CEO, you think of FOOD! Click here for the recipe for the Wild Garlic and Nettle Rissoto she cooked for the Carymoor staff. Delicious!

We have a large badger set next to the staff carpark and we had noticed recently that it was occupied. But by whom?

Not by badgers it seems - this fox was caught on camera by Jules just before it darted back into its den.

A lovely surprise that brightened up a spring morning: the purple saxifrage, a small alpine plant from northern Britain, flowering in our wildflower plant collection for the first time - a living jewel.
